North Korea Fires Ballistic Missiles Towards The East Sea After US-South Korea-Japan Naval Drills
North Korea fired multiple short-range ballistic missiles toward the East Sea on Saturday, South Korea’s military said, a day after Seoul concluded five days of joint maritime drills with the United States and Japan. The missiles were launched from the Wonsan area and travelled around 250 kilometres, according to South Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Staff. The latest launch comes amid heightened tensions over joint military exercises and follows North Korea’s earlier missile barrage in August despite US President Donald Trump’s stated plans to meet Kim Jong Un.
