With the third wave upon us and cases accelerating faster than they did in the second wave, driven by the highly transmissible Omicron variant, government strategy regarding Covid testing and tracking is changing. Asymptomatic contacts of a Covid positive patient do not need to be tested, but only isolated at home, and Omicron patients will no longer be mandatorily hospitalized, according to the new guidelines.
