AIIMS Director Dr Randeep Guleria says studies suggest that even a 1-point increase in PM2.5 can lead to a 6-7% increase in cases. Dr Guleria says that the cases will rise in the winter. Winter and air pollution could worsen India's COVID-19 situation, he said. There is a need to increase use of inhalers, wear masks, avoid areas where there is poor air quality and only step out when the sun is out.
