There are some 355 million women of reproductive age in India who need mechanisms and structures in place to meet their menstrual needs. The continued silence around menstruation along with limited access to information at home and in schools results in millions of women dropping out from schools, lack of self-esteem, cultural discrimination and exposure to health risks.
