Kolkata Durga Puja Pandal With Menstruation As Theme

Durga Puja is celebrated with a lot of fanfare in Kolkata and often pandals adopt interesting themes. One of the puja pandals has adopted menstruation as a theme to create awareness against discriminatory practices against menstruating women. The Pathuriaghata Pancher Pally Puja in north Calcutta has adopted the theme to celebrate Nari Shakti and raise awareness against the stigma and taboos that menstruating women have to face. Ellora Saha, one of the organisers tells NDTV why she chose the theme.
