Kolkata Police Makes Lighting Mandatory At Puja Pandals After Stampede Tragedy
In the wake of the deadly Kolkata Durga Puja stampede, Kolkata Police has issued fresh directives to all puja pandals across the city, making adequate illumination inside pandals mandatory. Police stations have been instructed to inspect venues and ensure sufficient lighting arrangements, amid concerns that poor visibility inside the Chorbagan pandal may have contributed to the crowd crush that claimed 19 lives.
