AAP Seeks FIR Over Cockroach Effigy Burning; BJP Defends Symbolism
A fresh political controversy has erupted over the burning of a "cockroach" effigy at a Dussehra event in Delhi's Pitampura. Delhi AAP chief Saurabh Bharadwaj has written to the Lieutenant Governor and Delhi Police Commissioner seeking an FIR, alleging that the act amounted to a deliberate alteration of established Sanatan traditions and hurt religious sentiments. BJP leader Kapil Mishra, however, defended the symbolism, saying the effigy represented anti-national forces and elements seeking to create disruption. The controversy has reignited debate over the growing use of political symbolism during religious celebrations.
