Nepal Flood Death Toll Surges To 1,250, Hundreds Still Missing
The death toll from devastating flash floods across Nepal and Tibet has surged to 1,250, as rescue teams battle rain, debris and dangerous conditions to search for people trapped in tunnels and underground powerhouses along the Bhotekoshi River. Nepal has rescued nearly 12,000 people, while 583 foreigners remain among those missing. In Tibet, at least 21 people have died and 541 remain missing. Nepal PM Balendra Shah has urged the international community to address the growing climate risks facing the Himalayan region.
