A layer of smog engulfed Mumbai's Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) on Saturday morning, with hazy conditions and reduced visibility reported across the area. The development comes as the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) continues measures to tackle air pollution across the city. According to the BMC, Mumbai recorded 231 days in the 'Good' and 'Satisfactory' AQI categories as of October 22, 2026, compared with 218 days in 2025. The civic body also reported an approximately 48% decline in PM10 concentration between 2017–18 and 2025–26. Measures include construction-site inspections, road cleaning and 76 ward-level mitigation squads tasked with monitoring pollution hotspots and enforcing air-pollution guidelines.
