In a grand gesture for Russian President Vladimir Putin, Prime Minister Narendra Modi broke protocol to receive him at Delhi's Palam Technical Airport. PM Modi greeted President Putin with a handshake and a warm embrace, before the two leaders left the airport together in the same vehicle. The Prime Minister is hosting a private dinner for President Putin following his arrival in New Delhi. Tomorrow, the two leaders will meet at Hyderabad House for restricted-format talks.
They will also co-chair the 23rd India-Russia Annual Summit, where over 10 inter-governmental agreements and more than 15 commercial MoUs are expected to be signed. Key focus areas outlined by officials include trade expansion, healthcare, fertilisers, shipping, agriculture, connectivity, and workforce mobility.
