Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi seeking his intervention in the Coimbatore and Madurai metro projects. Stalin said the state is even willing to meet the Prime Minister to explain the proposal, stressing that Tamil Nadu's growth requires fair treatment from the Centre.
The Chief Minister noted that people in the state are disappointed by the rejection of the metro proposals. The political reactions have intensified: the DMK has termed the refusal of the projects as “anti-Tamil”, while the BJP counters that the state government’s application was flawed.
