MEA Reaffirms Commitment To The Chabahar Port Project In Iran

The Ministry of External Affairs has reaffirmed India’s commitment to the Chabahar Port project, even as geopolitical challenges persist. MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said the United States has extended a conditional sanctions waiver for the port until April 26. The government said it remains engaged with all stakeholders to address the implications of the evolving situation. The waiver is crucial for India’s continued involvement in the strategic port, which provides connectivity to Afghanistan and Central Asia.
