Politics has intensified in West Bengal following the alleged rape and murder of a 12-year-old girl. Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee led a protest march over the incident, accusing BJP supporters of creating disturbances near her residence and alleging that police failed to ensure a peaceful demonstration despite a High Court order.
