Jaguar Unveils Type 01 Electric GT In New York

Jaguar Land Rover has unveiled the new Type 01 electric four-door GT in New York, marking a major step in the luxury carmaker’s brand relaunch. With an ultra-long bonnet, no rear window and a technology-heavy design, the Type 01 starts at $130,500 and takes inspiration from Jaguar’s iconic 1960s E-Type. Owned by India’s Tata Motors, JLR is betting on the US market despite softer EV demand and growing pressure from Chinese electric carmakers. The Type 01 follows Jaguar’s radical Type 00 concept unveiled in 2024 and signals the start of a new generation of Jaguar vehicles.
