West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has criticised the Election Commission's allotment of a new party name and symbol, calling it "unconstitutional, illegal, undemocratic" and a "black day" in India's democratic history. Speaking on behalf of the All India Trinamool Congress, Mamata Banerjee said her party does not disrespect the Constitution or the Constitutional Chair, but questioned the process and described it as politically biased. She also spoke about the country's economy, education, students and youth.
