Maduro News Today | Protesters Clash Outside New York Federal Court Over Maduro’s Arrest

Protesters gathered outside the New York Federal Court on January 5, clashing over the arrest and trial of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro. While some demonstrators applauded the move, others condemned what they described as an attack on Venezuela by the Trump administration under “Operation Absolute Resolve.” Trump’s decision to capture the Venezuelan president has sent shockwaves globally, with several countries condemning U.S. actions. During the hearing, Maduro pleaded not guilty to four criminal charges, including narco-terrorism, conspiracy to import cocaine, and possession of machine guns. His wife, Cilia Flores, also entered a not-guilty plea. The next court date has been set for March 17. Following the hearing, Maduro was escorted to a Brooklyn jail in a heavily secured convoy.
