Jagan Mohan Reddy Spent ₹222 Crore On Air Travel, RTI Sparks Row

Newly released records from the Andhra Pradesh Aviation Corporation reveal that former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy spent ₹222.85 crore on air travel between 2019 and 2024. This includes over ₹112 crore on fixed-wing aircraft, ₹87 crore on helicopters, and around ₹23 crore on crew and operational expenses.
In response, Minister Nara Lokesh countered that all 77 of his helicopter or special-flight trips in the last 18 months were funded entirely from his personal money, with "zero burden" on the state exchequer. The sharp contrast has reignited debate over fiscal prudence and the use of public funds for VIP travel in Andhra Pradesh.
