Israel Gaza War | Protesters In Rome March With Shroud Engraved With Names Of Children Killed In Gaza

Hundreds of protesters marched through the streets of Rome on Friday to commemorate the children who have died in Gaza amid the ongoing conflict. Demonstrators carried a symbolic white shroud engraved with the names of more than 18,000 children who lost their lives between October 7, 2023, and July 31, 2025, turning the procession into a powerful act of remembrance. Leading the march was a banner reading, “Don’t forget a single name,” a phrase inspired by Italian writer Paola Caridi, who was present at the event. Caridi described the shroud as a “fragile object” that “shouts very loudly,” emphasising the emotional and humanitarian message behind the demonstration. The march highlights growing global concern over the humanitarian impact of the Gaza conflict, with participants calling for remembrance, accountability, and an end to the violence.
