First the gruesome gang rape, then the family denied last rights, then media blocked, politicians stopped and now when the family decided to record the local administrators' high handedness, their phones were taken away by the Uttar Pradesh Police. Cut from communication completely, the family sneaked out a boy to tell their tale to the media. The family of the 19-year-old rape victim was not allowed to leave their home or access lawyers, activists or the press. All in the name of stopping the spread of coronavirus.
