Tens of thousands of people protested in Madrid over Spain’s worsening housing crisis, days after the eviction of 87-year-old Maricarmen Abascal sparked outrage and solidarity rallies. Abascal was removed from her Madrid apartment after living there for seven decades. Protesters marched from Puerta del Sol to the Spanish Congress, demanding measures against forced evictions, rental reforms and limits on short-term rentals.
