Iran War News | Marco Rubio Slams NATO Allies, Cites 'No Support' As War Rift Widens

A sharp transatlantic divide is emerging. Marco Rubio has hit out at NATO allies, claiming the United States did not receive adequate support despite repeatedly assisting partners in global conflicts. Rubio pointed to Europe's stance on Iran, noting that some leaders called it "not Europe's war", and countered by invoking the Ukraine conflict - stressing that the US has contributed more than any other country in backing Kyiv against Russia. The remarks come amid renewed pressure from Donald Trump on NATO members, including calls for greater burden-sharing and stronger support in securing key global chokepoints like the Strait of Hormuz. However, European leaders have pushed back. Friedrich Merz indicated that allies were not adequately consulted before escalation, suggesting that deeper involvement may have followed had there been prior coordination. As tensions rise, the war narrative is now expanding beyond the battlefield into a widening rift between Washington and its traditional allies.
