Iran has claimed it launched its “heaviest and most intense missile barrage” on Israel since the start of the conflict, targeting multiple locations including Tel Aviv, Jerusalem and Haifa. Iranian state media says the strikes hit a satellite communications centre in southern Tel Aviv along with other military-related sites. Tehran has also claimed that cluster munitions were used in the latest wave of attacks. Cluster weapons, which disperse smaller submunitions over a wide area, are banned by more than 100 countries due to their potential to cause widespread civilian harm, though Iran is not a signatory to the treaty. Israeli authorities say air defence systems detected incoming missiles and later indicated that it was safe for civilians to leave shelters, though the full extent of the damage remains unclear. The latest escalation comes as the conflict continues to intensify, with casualties reported on both sides.
