Indian Air Force | Ex-Air Chief Arup Raha On Alfred Cooke: "He Was Unmatched"
Former Air Chief Marshal Arup Raha tells NDTV that 1965 war hero Flight Lieutenant Alfred Cooke had a "very strong" case for the Param Vir Chakra, citing his extraordinary courage in taking on four enemy aircraft and continuing the dogfight despite having the wrong ammunition. Raha also says a posthumous PVC is possible, while stressing that he does not know the circumstances surrounding Cooke's award or his decision to leave the Air Force.
