India Test-Fires Submarine-Launched Ballistic Missile In Big Milestone

India's strategic strike submarine INS Arihant carried out a successful launch of a ballistic missile on Friday, the Defence Ministry said. The missile was tested to a predetermined range and it hit the target area in the Bay of Bengal with high accuracy, validating all operational and technological parameters, it said. Himachal Pradesh will vote for a new government on November 12 and votes will be counted on December 8, the Election Commission said on Friday, in an announcement that surprisingly did not include dates for Gujarat which was also expected to hold polls by the end of the year.
