Congress MP Manish Tewari tells NDTV that China's rapid advances in artificial intelligence, robotics, semiconductors, quantum computing and genomics should be a major strategic concern for India. Reacting to Beijing's humanoid robot games, Tewari warns that many of these technologies have dual civilian and military applications and could eventually reshape warfare along the Line of Actual Control. He argues that China's technological lead, combined with its ability to manufacture and deploy technologies at scale, makes it imperative for India to significantly increase investment in critical frontier technologies. "You can't fight the battles of tomorrow with the weapons of yesterday," Tewari says, stressing that the modern battlefield has already been transformed by AI and autonomous systems.
