In an exclusive conversation with NDTV, Indian Overseas Congress Chairman Sam Pitroda reacts to New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani's criticism of RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat's US visit. Pitroda says he agrees with Mamdani's "basic idea" of secularism and that all religions must be respected, while stressing that different people have different views of the RSS. He says engagement and dialogue should be possible, but declines to "welcome" Bhagwat's private event at Madison Square Garden, calling it the organiser's and US authorities' choice. Pitroda also shifts the focus to what he calls India's real priorities - women's status, education, jobs, equality, liberty and the future of India's children.
