Prime Minister Narendra Modi released the figures of the fifth cycle of India's Tiger Census  on Sunday. The data revealed that the tiger numbers have once again increased in the country and now stands at 3,167 in the wild as of 2022. While 50 years of Project Tiger is a reason to celebrate, many challenges still remain. We speak to wildlife historian and conservationist Raza Kazmi and conservation biologist Neha Sinha, who point out the challenge to tiger habitat from developmental projects is very real. Also how many tiger reserves may actually have no tigers which is a big cause of worry.
