India Calls Indus Waters Treaty 'Outdated', Hits Out At Pakistan At UNHRC

India strongly criticised Pakistan at the 62nd Session of the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC), calling the Indus Waters Treaty "outdated" and unsuited to present-day realities. Delivering India's right of reply, First Secretary Anupama Singh said a country that continues to sponsor terrorism cannot expect the benefits of cooperation founded on goodwill and friendship. She rejected Pakistan's allegations against India and accused Islamabad of repeatedly attempting to internationalise bilateral issues at global forums. The sharp exchange comes amid heightened tensions between the two neighbours, with New Delhi reiterating its position that cross-border terrorism and constructive cooperation cannot go hand in hand.
