INDIA Bloc Leaders To Meet President Murmu As Showdown With ECI Enters Day 4
The INDIA bloc is set to take its protest against the Election Commission to President Droupadi Murmu, as its confrontation over the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) and electoral rolls enters a fourth day. After two days of marches that saw police intervention and detentions, Opposition MPs observed an hour of silence at Raj Ghat on Thursday. The bloc continues to demand Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar’s resignation, while the BJP accuses the Opposition of creating an atmosphere of anarchy and questions the protest as the matter remains before the Supreme Court.
