DMK Leader Charged After Indecent Remark Against Vijay, TVK Hits Back

Chennai Police have charged a DMK councillor and a meeting organiser over alleged vulgar remarks against Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and TVK chief Vijay at a public meeting, triggering a political row. In a video, councillor Sudha Dheenadayalan is purportedly seen calling Vijay a "dog" while responding to what she alleged were body-shaming remarks by the chief minister against DMK president and former chief minister MK Stalin. In her speech, she also compared Vijay's appearance to Stalin's. The remarks have put the DMK in an awkward spot, with Chennai Mayor and party leader R Priya seen laughing during the speech, while senior leader and DMK Parliamentary Party leader MK Kanimozhi appeared visibly uncomfortable. In another video shared by the DMK, Kanimozhi is seen urging the speaker to maintain decorum. NDTV could not independently verify either video.
