Michael Mayer, Director-Passenger Cars, Volkswagen India opens up about the vehicles displayed at Volkswagen pavilion at Expo- Ameo, Tiguan and Passat. VW is confident about the new sub-compact sedan Ameo which will enter the congested segment this year. Ameo is exquisite for Indian market and will not be exported to other countries. The premium SUV Tiguan is expected to be launched in India coming fiscal. Plug in hybrid Passat is currently being tested but India launch is not certain yet. The company is positive that 2016 will be a better year for passenger car segment and as for the diesel engine emission scandal, VW cars are completely compliant with Indian standards but VW will do a voluntary recall for diesel cars.
