While campaigning in 2011, J Jayalalithaa spoke to NDTV in a rare interview and accused "North Indian media" of blaming her for corruption. "What is this so-called corruption I have supposedly indulged in?" she asked. The politician went on to sweep the election, and was then re-elected in May this year.
