In last one year, in order to achieve the dream of ODF Jharkhand, the state has trained more than 70,000 women on how to construct a toilet at home as in many districts there was an acute shortage of masons to work as part of the Swachh Bharat Mission – Gramin. So, all the stakeholders decided to create a pool of women masons, also called 'Rani Mistris'. In addition to constructing toilets in the state, the women masons also helped in motivating other women to join in and eliminate the menace of open defecation.
