Himanta Biswa Sarma has begun the Jan Ashirwad Yatra in Assam’s Lower Assam region on the final day of the first phase of the outreach campaign. The yatra, organised by the Bharatiya Janata Party, aims to establish direct contact with people across every region of the poll-bound state. According to the party, the campaign has completed one week and has seen large public participation, claiming that more than one lakh people have been reached each day during the yatra. The chief minister said the initiative has received unprecedented support from the public as the party intensifies its grassroots connect ahead of the upcoming elections.
