Flydubai Captain Smit Machchhar Recovering In Saudi Hospital, India Extends All Support

Captain Smit Machchhar, the Indian captain injured in the Flydubai mid-air incident, is recovering in a hospital in Saudi Arabia after the flight was diverted to Tabuk. Flydubai has confirmed to Indian authorities that Machchhar is an Indian national and is coordinating with his family and Indian authorities in the UAE. The Indian government is also in touch with the UAE and Saudi authorities and has extended support to the captain. Flydubai is expected to issue a detailed statement after examining the cockpit voice recorder. Separately, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is reportedly expected to speak with US President Donald Trump about the incident.
