Explained: What Is Israel's New Expanded Gaza Offensive Plan?
Israel's military has announced plans to call up 60,000 reservists and extend the service of 20,000 more as it prepares for a new phase of operations in Gaza City. Defence Minister Israel Katz has approved the move, to begin a new phase of operations in some of Gaza's most densely populated areas. This comes as international pressure mounts for a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, to end 22-months of fighting.
