Exclusive: Coal Minister on Jairam's soft stance

In an exclusive interview with NDTV, Coal Minister Sriprakash Jaiswal says that the environment minister's climb down in giving green signal to Coal India's sixteen coal projects is in part, due to the pressure on him from the highest levels. At the same time Jaiswal conceded that while Ramesh had agreed to clear short term coal projects, on the larger question of no-go areas for coal mining, the environment minister remained adamant.
