DMK Steps Up Fight Against SIR, Backs Student Protests; MPs To Meet President

The DMK, led by MK Stalin, has made the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) the focus of its political agenda, backing student protests and announcing that its MPs will meet the President with their demands. The party has called for Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar's resignation, the scrapping of SIR and a return to ballot paper voting. Stalin has said SIR must be the immediate priority, while the DMK has also accused the Congress and TVK of double standards over the issue. Meanwhile, Tamil Nadu Minister CTR Nirmal Kumar said protests would be permitted at designated locations, subject to rules and necessary permissions.
