Today, on the Great Climate Change Challenge, we're going to focus on sustainable cities now more than ever, making our cities more climate resilient is the need of the hour and should be a top priority for all of us. The impact of climate change is clearly evident year after year. We're seeing cities being devastated by changing weather patterns, extreme events while also dealing with the perennial issues all cities face, like water shortage, air pollution, traffic congestion and waste management challenges. This, as urban spaces continue to rapidly expand. This year, we've already faced scorching temperatures. The cyclone Boker Joy in the Arabian Sea, record-breaking rainfall in northwest parts of India, particularly in Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Delhi. In fact, even down in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand, we're seeing heavy rainfall. The national capital this year itself saw record flooding with the Yamuna River reaching the ramparts of the Red Ford. The responsibility to build sustainable cities lies with both the state and society through policies and innovations. On this show, we talk about the crucial need for sustainable practices across many sectors such as energy, water resources, air quality, urban planning, sustainable housing and electric mobility. We'll also discuss the vital roles that policy makers and innovative startups are playing, and we will continue to play in forging resilient and clean cities that will combat climate change.
