Singer Chinmayi Fined For Her #MeToo Allegations Against Actor, Lyricist

Singer Chinmayi, one of the key faces of the MeToo movement in India, is paying a heavy price for naming lyricist Vairamuthu and retweeting sexual harassment allegations against actor Radha Ravi. Vairamuthu has denied the allegations. The celebrated vocalist is already witness a decline in offers. The dubbing union that Radha Ravi headed had terminated her membership citing default in subscription. The association has now also slapped a fine of Rs 1.5 lakh on Chinmayi besides demanding an apology for the actor to accept her back in the union.
