Election Commission To Announce Bihar Assembly Polls Schedule Today | Read
The Election Commission is set to announce the schedule for the high-stakes Bihar Assembly elections at 4 pm today.
The poll body will address from the Vigyan Bhawan in the national capital, it said in an official release.
Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar had earlier said that elections for the 243 seats in Bihar would be completed before November 22, when the current Assembly's term ends. Many political parties have urged the poll body to hold the election immediately after the 'Chhath Puja' festival - which will be celebrated at the end of October - to ensure greater voter participation as a large number of people employed in other states return home for festivities.
