Durga Puja Ends In West Bengal With Idol Immersion On Vijaya Dashami
The immersion ceremony symbolises the end of the goddess's annual sojourn to her paternal home and she returns to her husband Lord Shiva at their heavenly abode in Mount Kailash. Thursday devotees gathered at Kolkata's Ganga Ghats to immerse idols of goddess Durga in the waters of river Ganges on the last day of the Durga Puja.
