Dravidian Model Vs Gujarat Model: TN Minister Palanivel Thiaga Rajan & Economist Surjit Bhalla Clash

Economist Surjit Bhalla and Tamil Nadu IT Minister Palanivel Thiaga Rajan clashed over the question of 'Dravidian Model" and the 'Gujarat Model' of development. Mr. Bhalla said that Tamil Nadu was able to overcome the problems and ominous rules & regulations placed by the Central govt because "In Tamil Nadu & other southern states there was efficient corruption" as "all states are corrupt in India's institutional structure". This, he said, ensured that all bureaucratic delays were overcome and politics didn't interfere in this efficient system in the South. PTR countered saying that if there was any "Super Model of Efficient Corruption', it was 'Gujarat before 2014'.
