Uttarakhand Rains | Dehradun Bridge Caves In Due To Heavy Rains Just 16 Days After Inauguration

Heavy overnight rainfall triggered a massive cave-in on the approach road to the newly inaugurated Tons River bridge at Nanda Ki Chowki in Dehradun. The collapse occurred just 16 days after the bridge was opened, severely disrupting traffic between Dehradun, Vikasnagar, and Paonta Sahib in Himachal Pradesh. The incident has raised fresh concerns over infrastructure quality, drainage planning, and monsoon preparedness, with commuters facing major inconvenience as authorities assess the damage and begin restoration work.
