Cyclone Montha, currently a deep depression over the southeast Bay of Bengal, is expected to intensify into a severe cyclonic storm by October 28, making landfall on the Andhra Pradesh coast in the evening or night. The IMD has issued heavy rainfall alerts for Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, and Puducherry. Coastal districts including Nellore, Prakasam, Bapatla, Krishna, West Godavari, Konaseema, and Srikakulam can expect extremely heavy rainfall and strong winds, with gusts up to 210 km/h.
