DRDO-ARDE, Pune, has developed an indigenously designed Close Quarter Battle (CQB) Carbine. (CQB) Carbines are compact, lightweight firearms tailored for combat in confined environments such as buildings, alleyways, forests, or bunkers, unlike full-length rifles. The CQB Carbine developed by DRDO's ARDE Pune addresses both functional and logistical gaps by providing Modern ergonomics, improved reliability, reduced weight, and enhanced lethality.
