In Lucknow, An Endless Wait For Mourning Families Of Covid Patients

With Covid deaths rising again in Uttar Pradesh capital in the second wave of the pandemic, the designated electric crematorium in the city for Covid casualties is full. A long line of ambulances and distressed relatives were seen waiting for their turn to cremate their loved ones. Four municipal corporation employees are putting in 17 to 18-hour daily shifts to carry out the cremations with Covid protocol. Bodies are also being brought to the Lucknow crematorium from nearby areas outside the city. NDTV's Alok Pandey and Rajesh Gupta report from crematorium.
