The Congress has come under fire over its decision to stick to only the first two stanzas of National Song Vande Mataram despite the government's push to sing the full version at official events in the country. The Congress Working Committee (CWC) today decided to follow its 1937 resolution that only the first two stanzas will be sung at party events. The BJP, which had earlier accused the Congress of insulting the national song, hit out at the opposition party and said it has become a "new Muslim League". The decision raises questions on the Congress's "patriotism and loyalty" to the country, said the BJP's national spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi.
