Coimbatore News | Tamil Nadu Shocker: 10-Year-Old Girl Kidnapped, Killed In Coimbatore

A 10-year-old girl, who had been missing since Thursday evening, was found dead with injuries near Kannampalayam lake in the Sulur area of Tamil Nadu's Coimbatore on Friday. Police have arrested two accused, who had allegedly kidnapped the girl and later killed her. Police said the girl had stepped out to buy grocery near her house in Sulur area when the accused allegedly abducted her and later killed her. The accused have been identified as Karthik and Mohan Raj. "During the investigation based on CCTV inspection and technical inquiry, the police found that the girl's neighbour, Karthik, took the girl along with him. The accused, Karthi, was arrested in another location. When he tried to escape from the police, the accused's leg and hand were fractured. The accused gave a confession that the girl was sexually assaulted and murdered in a coconut farm near a pond. More investigation revealed that another accused, Mohan, helped the main accused. Mohan was also arrested and sent to judicial custody. Karthi is under treatment at the hospital," said West Region Inspector General of Police (IGP) Ramya.
