Franklin Templeton has launched an equity fund that will invest in domestic and overseas stocks. This comes after the Budget 2006-07 made provisions for mutual funds to invest in overseas companies. The fund is called Templeton India Equity Income Fund and Mark Mobius will manage the fund. He will be assisted by Chetan Sehgal, head of research for Templeton.
